HUGH SIMMS NOTES:
I have had the pleasure to meet with Sleepy and he is one cool cat. He is a fan of Hugh Simms Ties and discussions began on using our ties and my style work for his upcoming tour. His vocals remind me of a blend of Curtis Mayfield, Isaac Hayes and a young Marvin Gaye. Sleepy’s solo albums are a refreshing alternative to a lot of today’s mainstream rap although you can hear him on top tracks from almost every R&B artist. He has said he got his name because all the girl’s used to say he looks sleepy because his eyes were half-closed. Always in my ipod favorites.
