Russell was the brand’s first lead model and still represents the true inspiration of what that man is. He was introduced to me after a long meeting with Jennifer Styles co/owner of our P.R. company “The Workshop”. After explaining the rugged/intelligent/anti-hero man i set out to design my brand for she nearly jumped out of her seat insisting that she had the perfect model. Russell catching a plane early the next morning for a shoot didn’t stop him from meeting up with me. After sharing a drink with him, Jenn and his girl that night I was in 100% agreement. It’s still amazing to me how many girls ask me the same thing, “does he come with the tie”.
After the Caulfield Shoot Russell moved into music videos starring in MTV’s Nominated Must Video of the Year, “Poker Face”. I asked what was the main difference in our photo shoot and their video shoot. He told me jokingly that the wardrobe was a lot simpler.
